NOTORIOUS FRAUDSTER, SEUN EGBEGBE MAY END UP IN MAXIMUM PRISON LAGOS



Just according to this popular saying 'every day is for the thieves while one day for the owner ’, and this time these words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, should come to the fore on the serial thief, Seun Egbegbe. Less than two months after he was almost lynched at the Computer Village, Ikeja for allegedly stealing I-phones, filmmaker, Seun Egbegbe Thursday landed in another big trouble. He was again arrested by policemen from the Area H Command for allegedly defrauding some Bureau De Change (BDC) operators of about N10 million at Gbagada. If you recall, Seun Egbegbe was remanded in prison custody by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on a count charge of stealing, under Section 278 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The movie producer, who was later granted bail with one million Naira, with two responsible sureties in like sum, traveled abroad last month and returned recentlWith his previous trial adjourned to February 18, Egbegbe, it was gathered went to Gbagada with some of his friends under the guise that he wanted to change some dollars. Witnesses who took to social media to share information on the incident claimed that the movie producer lied that he was a medical doctor at Gbagada General Hospital, asking the BDC operator to come there for his money later. But when he was unable to provide an identity card to support his claim, the operator was said to have raised an alarm, attracting others who had him beaten before handing him over to the police. The state command, through the Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, corroborated the incidence through a statement thus, ‘Today at about 13.00hrs, one Seun Karim a.k.a Egbegbe and one Ayo Oyekan, disguised as the MD of Gbagada General Hospital and the other as a patient, lured one Alhaji Isa Adamu and Abdullahi Haruna, both bureau de change members, from different locations that they needed 9000 dollars and 3000 pounds. The unsuspecting victims brought same to the suspects at the hospital; they collected the said amount and attempted to escape with the money. The victims raised alarm and consequently the suspects were arrested by the policemen attached to the hospital. Further to the arrest of the fraudsters, many members of the bureau de change are trooping in to the office with similar complaints against the suspects, case is under investigation’, BETH NEWS gathered that they are presently being detained at Area H Ogudu, Police station.
