CRISES LOOMS IN IFE AS OONI REFUSES TO ADHERE TO COURT JUDGEMENT ON OBALUFE STOOL.

Following the Court  judgement delivered on 11th December 2019 by honourable justice F.A Awolalu, nullifying the purported selection and appointment of Idowu Adediwura for being inconsistent  with the extant Obalufe Chieftaincy Declaration of 1957 with an order of injunction restraining Idowu Adediwura from parading himself as OBALUFE and or performing any duty, function and right pertaining to the office of the Obalufe of ife. Crown with an order of mandatory injunction commanding OBA ADEYEYE ENITAN OGUNWUSI who happens to be the 1st respondent, to perform his duty by doing the needful to replace IDOWU ADEDIWURA with Prince Elugbuji Abayomi within 21 days. When contacted, a vibrant Ife Lawyer,  Barrister Aladesogbon reacted to the press release emanated from Ooni's palace as released in today's Punch publication. "It is disheartening reading a  press statement of  Director of Media and Publicity of Ooni's palace ,Yera Moses Olafare setting a ground of possible contempt of court and that he was surprised that such press statement  could emanates from Ooni's palace considering the experience and activism of Yera Moses Olafare base on the following:
Someone who preaches or sues  for peace in a matter must not be part of the action capable of breaching the law of the land. Someone that preaches equity must be known with equity. Someone who is a peace ambassador must desist from action that can cause mayhem. How reasonable is it  to talk on amicable settlement when a judgement had been delivered on a case?"                                                                                                                                   He went to say "No one is above the law. Ooni must be seen as someone protecting the rule of law and not moving against the law. Why is it difficult to do the needful when OONI himself is a product of Gazette  and if by any way  OONI is acting contrary to law it means his own selection process too is faulty and challengeable. In a civil case, "An Appeal does not ordinarily prevent the enforcement of a court judgement and it is NOT a substitute to a "Stay of Execution"  As much as people are maintaining decency and decorum in the last four years they might implore other means to get what belongs to them which may be detrimental to the stool of OONI  and may cause chaos  in the city."

As at the time of putting this news together, there is tension mounting everywhere in Ile Ife and people are ready to revolt against all  injustice in the sacred city. Meanwhile, the 21 days ordered by the court is still counting.
