In case The President Is Not Aware ~ Adesina Tiamiyu

So National Assembly resumed plenary today even in the period of lockdown. Good one.
The first thing they did was to approve #850b Naira loan request of Mr. President to fund this year's budget. No problem also with that.

However, even though am not an economist, I think Nigeria deserves a better deal this time around. The budget must be scrutinised and critical project must be determined while non critical ones must be pushed to the period when things improve.
What should be of utmost concern should be projects that has direct bearing on helping economy grow quickly, helping  businesses grow, including small scale ones, critical infrastructure like power, road and transportation must also be given pride of place.

This is definitely not the time to begin to talk of constituency projects, palliatives that has no tracking, bogus votes for travels, training and all sort.
Corona virus has decimated economies, ravaged humanity and debased our people. What we want to see is budget that put people as the central focus.

President Buhari does not even need any legacies again beyond what he has done in Agriculture, Rail system and some areas we have scored him high. This definitely is a very trying times for every nation.
We will make demands for what next we want from any incoming government.

Mr. President must sit alone and think deep of the opportunity God has given him again to detach himself from bad advisers and use the remaining period of his presidency to rewrite history.
Mr. President must know the truth. Nigerians are not happy, they are not better than they were few years ago. People are suffering. We now see people scavenge for food unlike before.
Working class people are begging for money just like the jobless one. Businesses are dying and a lot have lost their job even as more job losses are expected. Only the part of the budget that will raise the hopes of Nigerians are important now.

The people suffering are not from the opposition alone, they are many in our party, APC too. They were there in the sun shouting Sai Baba! Sai Baba!!.  Am sure as we speak today, not many of them will want to do that again and its obvious from the result of the 2019 elections that his popularity has waned.

It is not news to see many strong supporters of APC in the forefront of those who criticise him today..many leaders know the truth but chose to remain tongue in cheek for reasons best known to them.

Mr. President has tried his best. We all know he isn't younger anymore and not expected to be the one to do all. He has an opportunity now to chose the best among us to help him from this point. Political patronage has not helped much.

Nigeria has been run mostly by The Presidential Task Force in the last 2 months and we didn't miss any of the other ministers who are probably in hiding from Corona themselves.
We can afford to trade some of them who are obviously tired for new ones whose competence the president himself can verify and bring into government.

I appeal to Presidential aides to please allow the man we voted for listen to the people. Stop giving the president fake and patronising advise. All leaders of this country who have access to the President should be bold enough to tell the President the truth.  Nigerians want to talk to their president.

Muhammadu Buhari is a nice and forthright man, everybody say so.
It is now time to let him know the truth and save Nigeria and Nigerians so that he will have less stress in stating his deeds before his Maker. We appeal to him to kindly listen to the cries of Nigerians who voted him to power in the absolute hope that he will better their lot.

Make no mistake about it, we have recorded remarkable improvement in some areas of our national life but Nigerians now need to see this translate to improvement in their private lives.
Not all those who criticise government are opposition. I am sure I am not one.
Whatever conclusion you reach about this is your right, you are entitled to it.
