ATTN: Before social media, it's all love. I am too plain in the industry, known to care for everyone, no friends, no foes.
Arrival of SOCIAL MEDIA, problem starts with some. Yomi this, Yomi that. The ORIGINALITY and GUTS are so much a stake for those who want to climb higher via social media & fake lives. It took me time to realise that huge factor, much damage done.
Some colleagues I am showing love and loyalty to & those hating you for showing love to this colleague has same IMPRESSION about me, ATTENTION SEEKING!
It took a long time to comprehend some social media "KNOCKS", "HATE" and "COMMENTS" often with fake accounts. I never had one. They begin to create problems and negative noise around my strengths and make people believe I am hated. My ink that print wisdom and truth become mockery, caring heart with goodwill becomes a suspect, aiye toto.
Some of their PAs/students crawled back to confess and apologise, stressed that those messages and attacks I see with their accounts and their principals who are either younger colleagues or contemporaries used their handles. I couldn't phantom it.
It took me a while to know that the quest to TREND, be most loved, huge followers has been the reason most of them put up so much NEGATIVES online just to cut me down. Some are VOUYERS. They assume everything I do is for clout, O ma se. Only a few honest, God-fearing and forthright colleagues who know my antecedents testify within themselves that "THIS IS YOMI, SELFLESS AS EVER BEFORE SOCIAL MEDIA". To most of the green horns, there is no way they can understand. Their mindsets is that FAME & SUCCESS is by social media followers rather than true skill, hardwork & substance. They always aim to use their comment sections to drag who they should not because their sole thinking is, EVERYBODY IS A COMPETITOR fighting for followers. Integrity offline very crucial.
So, ANY DECISION TAKEN AROUND MY FOLKS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY ON SOCIAL MEDIA ENDS ON SOCIAL MEDIA, Love for all, NO PRIDE. E le wa yimi lori o.
When we see OFFLINE, our common sense, originality & conviction will deal and adjust. We all know our true place & intellectual worth. Let Mate know Mate
