Oh what a blessed day it was in 1976 when Bros Dave took Sister Faith into a Church in Kwara and asked her to sign that historical document ‘SAILING UNDER SEALED ORDERS’.
If that had happened today, all hell would have broken loose, The ladies on ‘Your View’ the popular program on TVC would have bashed and condemned the action in total. (After all they disagreed with Daddy Adeboye on his birthday message to Mummy Folu Adeboye).
Feminists would have staged a protest on different TV Stations or expressed their disgust all over social media. Accusers would have condemned Sister Faith for being too docile and allowing a man trample on her. Perhaps some lawyer would have taken Bros Dave to court for being a chauvinist.
Exactly 38 years ago today, you were gloriously married to a man who couldn’t afford a hotel room but slept in a Volkswagen Beetle on the night before your wedding.
A man whose ‘Honeymoon’ promise was only kept on your 30th Anniversary.
A man who only answered ‘It can’t happen, can I have my food please’ when you told him you just had a miscarriage.
A man who was vomiting blood less than 2 years after marriage because of constant fasting and made the House of God his ‘first’ wife.
But thank God you did it.
By doing it you saved a generation, you showed the way to many millions and preserved destinies.
You signed your way into rest
Thank you Mama Faith
None of those who criticize you can match your testimony.
A God-Fearing, rich, loving, dotting, humble, fearless, humorous, generous and romantic husband.
Many of them would love to pay and sit in a private jet (just) to take pictures.
You have become their envy today as far as the Heaven is far from earth.
Any meeting with you always makes the difference.
Your testimony fires up our faith.
In your light we have seen light.
We appreciate you more than words can say for all the love you keep expressing to your darling husband and even to all of us your children.
A few days ago in the midst of the lockdown, you had to insist that our Bishop got some rest and he came back stronger and fresher.
We love you Ma.
We admire your faith.
We covet your Spirit.
We adore your courage.
Blessed be the womb that bore you Ma...and the paps that gave you suck.
We pray for many many more years in good health and strength to enjoy your marriage.
Mama, you are forever blessed.
Your children’s children even to the fourth generation will sit at your table as Jesus tarries
We are constantly praying for you and wishing you well.
God bless you for us Mummy (Pastor) Faith Abiola Oyedepo (née Akano)
