I have watch Chief Sunday Igboho argument and its a tale of courage and just course however, right to live in any part of Nigeria as argued by the Meyetti Allah is also very true and just . Every Nigerian has right to live anywhere but that right exist when it is done without any form of criminality. Kidnapping is a crime, trespassing is a crime. Killing those who come to demand for justice over damages done to their farm like the late Doctor who was killed by suspected fulani herders when he went for peace meeting is a crime.
For the first time I fault Governor Seyi Makinde. He needed a high courage to visit the location in question. He needed to call for peace meeting between the seriki fulani, King of that location and Sunday Igboho . Politicians know how to use people like Chief Sunday Igboho during election only to label them criminals when they get to power. What Sunday did is what the Governor was suppose to do. See how Ondo State Govenor, Rotimi Akeredolu SAN is avoiding blood shed by being the one to initiate structure to the Fulani cattle business in his state. Life avoid vacuum; If you are a leader and you don't do your job which is to protect life and property , the people will rise and defend themselves.
A government that encourage farming cannot at the same time encourage the destruction of farms by grazing castles .
GOODNEWS!!! All these are sign of a nation about to be forged . The real Nigerian nation is about to be formed. We will fight each other but the people will eventually win and we will structure a way to live harmoniously. America went through same, France did , Britain did in a way.Infact Span is still going through a form of negotiating their nationhood . The Good News is that leaders are emerging. Those who were not elected but have genuine and sincere desire for good well being of their people at heart. I just need to see more northern leaders emerge . The northern young elite need to speak up and chase out the old power drunk elders who are mortgaging their future. 8year is almost gone with a northerner as leader of Nigeria. What has the North gained other than being hated by the other part of the nation. Northerners are victim of this insensitive government.
Lastly, Justice must be done with empathy .Chief Sunday Igboho is demanding that Yorube nation shouldn't be slave in their own land which is a noble course but his action of giving ultimatum to the seriki is wrong, the person with the legal power to do it is the Governor and that's why I fault the governor for playing victim instead of taking right actions here. The fulani seriki is wrong to have allowed his people graze on farm lands and treathen. Some of his people kidnap farmers. He should have weed out the criminal elements in his ranks before it was too late. He is right to have desired to live anywhere in Nigeria. As of today, our constitution says we all have right to leave in each other land once we buy or rent the land. We all need some empathy for each other . Yoruba, igbo, house fulani are all human. Blood flow in our veins and we need each other. The enemy is not fulani , they are victims like you and I. The enemy is the federal, state and local government rulers who cannot provide structures to enforce laws that endanger peaceful coexistence.
In all, peace will come after some time of war and confusion. Am impress with the intent of the likes of chief Sunday Igboho to stand and defend their father's land but lets do it with love. The courage of love is what we need in Nigeria. Also happy that the Fulani Seriki confirmed no one died. Nigerian Media has to step up thier game of giving accurate information.
