Popular Nigerian gospel music Artiste, Mrs Patricia Temitope Alabi is a film music composer, an actress and the queen of Yoruba language.
Tope Alabi was born on 27th, october 1970in Lagos State to Mr Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Mrs Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. Tope happens to be the only daughter out of three children in the family. The beautiful singer hails from Yewa, imeko in Ogun State, Nigeria.
Tope Graduated from the Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1990 where she studied mass communication. Her interest in music and drama came during her school days and this led her to join the then “jester international group” at ibadan where she got her initial training and experience in drama. She later joined the prestigious “Alade Aromire Theatre Group” in 1994 where she was able to distinguish herself as a talented singer and actress.
Tope Alabi has been involved in various soundtracks productions for the Yoruba movie industry. She has recorded over 350 soundtracks. She is indeed a pacesetter of soundtracks in Nigeria entertainment industry.
She got married to Mr Soji Alabi in the year 1998 and the marriage has been blessed with three children, two girls and a boy. Her music career came to limelight in 2000 after releasing her song “Oore ti o common”. The album brought her fame and also gave her a nickname “Agbo jesu” and “oore ti o common”. Prior to that, she has released two albums which didn’t sell yet she didn’t give up.
Tope Alabi has released eleven albums and 35 songs. The latest album,”the spirit of light” iun 2019 was done in conjunction with the popular song writer and photographer TY Bello. Some of the albums she has released prior to the latest one are; “Oore ti o common, certificate, kokoro igbala, Angeli mi and so on”.
