Baale Olowora and the entire residents of Olowora kick against Omole phase2 who is planing to barricade the only major roads that leads to Olowora and its environs, when Chief Baale Ahalji Suleiman Ogungbeye of Olowora speaking with some journalists recently in Lagos said Olowora remains an ancient community that have been in an existence for over hundred years with the population of over five hundred thousand people living in the community till date.
The Baale speak further, that it was a rude shocked hearing that Omole phase2 went to Alausa to get an approval to barricade/block the only major roads from the residents, motorists especially market women and men to pass again.
The Baale questioned again, if eventually the road is blocked which I'm pretty sure that such project can never be approved by our grassroots Governor.
He further asked, how would people of Olowora be accessing the community if such project is erected?
The Baale also remarked, this is a wicked act and barbaric.
Baale of Olowora said "I could vividly recollect during Otedola's bridge crisis they took a steps by consulting us in which we both looked at the positive and negative side of erecting a gate along Otedola bridge as consensus were reached between the two community which till date we never had any augment or rancour ever since the Otedola's bridge gate erected because mutual understanding was duly involved, this is exactly what we Olowora also expected from Omole Please2 to have done instead of allegedly went to Alausa claiming to have obtained an approval, haven't read their purported letter that wasn't detailed enough, Baale said he knows there was sacrosanct and conspiracy emanating from the pit of hell, as far as he's concerned, Omole Phase II CDA planing to used their influence, affluence to ride on our human rights at the expense of their wicked act knowing fully well if any gate is been erected at that particular spot there won't be an existing route to apply for over 500,000 residence of Olowora, again as Omole CDA failed to even think of the economy disasters this might caused to the general public within the axis.
Baale said at this juncture, my humble self Chief, Alhaji Suleiman Otegbeye the real Baale of Olowora and the entire Olowora community say no to any illegal road blockage with gate hardship within our community because we can not say we share the same borders with Omole phase II yet allowing them to override our human rights while we call on His Excellency Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to wage into this by taking a prompt action to stop Omole CDA from erecting any form of gate in order to save Olowora community and its environs.
Residents of Olowoira community, a community under Ikosi-Isheri local government area of Lagos state has called on the Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu to help intervene and stop the proposed erection of gates on the popular Olowora road.
The residents who came out in their large numbers with placards that has various inscriptions on it called on the Governor to disregard and stop the plans of some selfish individuals at the Omole Estate, a neighboring estate to Olowora, or there will be a serious communal clash that may degenerate to a breakdown of law and order in the state.
A note was said to have been sent to the Baale and community leaders of Olowora from some influential residents of Omole, who said they have gotten approvals from the State's Ministry of Works to erect a gate at a major road and the only road that led to Olowora just because its too accessible for people who used the road to access their estate.
They noted that aside the road being a major road, the road is the only access to Olowoira community and the only access to other residents at Isheri and Omole. A move they see that if actualized will block the whole road and also make life unbearable for people living in the community.
According to Mr Segun Fadeji, the secretary of Ifelodun LCDA Olowora, Omole phase2 was given as a GRA and we all accepted them, Olowora were the original owners of the lands but they gated the other end of the road to introduce the ticketing platform.
"Governor Sanwo-Olu should caution this individuals who out of their selfish interest wanted to cause mayhem in our community."
"This is a major road that serves about 4 communities. It is a public road, it cannot be gated or blocked."
"We know Governor Sanwo -Olu will not accept to such unfriendly and anti-peace exercise in his state. We are not ready to gate our roads!"
Iyaloja of Olowora an aged woman also said "this is total wickedness and selfish interest without considering the welfare of the poor masses, saying further Olowora ancestors will be so angry with Omole phase2 myopic act" while she called on Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and those in the affairs of Lagos government to look into this before it would generate into unending community mayhem".
