Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), on the sidelines of the ongoing 6th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit, (NDIS) has led a team of Nigeria Diaspora Entrepreneurs and Investors to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake in Abuja.
Dabiri-Erewa stated that NIDCOM was set up primarily to engage with the Diaspora Community for the development of Nigeria, therefore it was fitting to bridge the gap between investors and the government to achieve a seamless and conducive business environment.
The NIDCOM Boss added that the government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is giving the needed push and drive, creating avenues for MSMEs and big time Businesses to thrive with solid policy directions.
Mr Dele Alake, Minister of Solid Minerals Development, commended Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa for her commitment to National Development and dedication to duties.
The Minister expressed excitement that Nigerians are coming forward to explore the sector that over the years has been dominated by foreign investors. He reiterated government's unhindered support to businesses ready to invest in Nigeria's economy.
Mr Alake added that attention has shifted to clean energy, therefore, there is a huge demand for natural resources with close to zero emissions and environmental pollution.
He concluded that the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development has designed inter-agency security architecture that will create a secure mining environment for investors in Nigeria.
King Wale Adesanya, the President of Nigeria Canada Business Network, Dr Ali Garba, Chairman, Akufai Capital & Equities, LLC, Dr Badewa Adejugbe-Williams NDSI Coordinator were amongst the delegates and they all stressed the need for collaboration between government and its diasporas particularly now. They assured the minister that they are willing and ready to give their skills, talents, expertise, and global exposure to the mining sector.
The ongoing 6th Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit is organised by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission in partnership with Nigeria Diaspora Summit Initiative.
