Moment Some Delegations From Nigerian Institute Of Architects NIA Pays Courtesy Visit ToThe Director-General Of Nigerian Copyright Commission NCC

On February 14th, 2024, popular and easygoing Arc. Mobolaji Adeniyi FNIA led a group of delegates of Nigerian Institute of Architectural (NIA) on a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC).


Accompanied were esteemed officials of the NIA, including the 1st Vice President, Arc. Saulawa, FNIA; the 2nd Vice President, Arc. Chioma Wogu-Ogbonna, FNIA, alongside Distinguished Fellows and members from the Abuja Chapter: Arc Chibuzor Okigwe, Arc. Lanre Olanrewaju FNIA, Arc Danny Sokari George FNIA, Arc. Oka Amogu FNIA, Arc. Yomi Lawal FNIA, Arc Rakiya Ado FNIA, Arc. Ene Audu and Arc Kelechi Iroegbu.

During the meeting, "I emphasized the pivotal role architects play in shaping Nigeria's architectural landscape and the critical importance of intellectual property rights within our profession. I highlighted the necessity for collaboration between the NIA and the NCC to safeguard architects' intellectual property rights, combat piracy, and ensure equitable compensation for their contributions to the built environment.


Furthermore, he underscored the NCC's role in supporting the aspirations of NIA members and the broader architectural profession, delineating key areas of collaboration, including intellectual property rights protection, capacity building and education, and cultural heritage preservation".


In conclusion, Mobolaji Adeniyi expressed optimism about forthcoming discussions and collaborations between the NIA and the NCC, extending sincere gratitude to the Director-General and the esteemed members of the Nigerian Copyright Commission for their warm hospitality and receptiveness.


The Nigerian Institute of Architects reaffirms its commitment to advancing its members' interests and fostering architectural excellence across Nigeria.
