Information at our disposal has it that some angry customers are presently protesting at the office of IKEJA ELECTRIC, Jankara Ijaiye office (under Abule Egba Business Unit) over alleged issues of transformer stealing by staff of the organization!
Remember i reported the nefarious activities of some of the staffers of Ikeja Electricity (Jankara Office) at Ola-Ogun Estate, Amje area of Lagos State couple of weeks ago on this platform. Especially one Mr. Sikiru at the vigilante department. Some of the houses that have paid for pre-paid meters since 2011 are yet to get their meters. Yet, this idiots from I.E. bill residents outrageous bills. It is all over Lagos!
A lawyer who took a protest letter to that office couple of weeks back said he met a lady who gave her name as Patience. The lady is head of the business desk was alleged to have told the agent of the lawyer to "call Fashola and report" and that nothing will happen! That is the kind of impunity that reigns in such organizations....
No wonder, over 200 customers are said to be protesting right now!
Solution?
Head office at Alausa should intervene and transfer some of the staffers. 96% of them should be redeployed as some of them, especially that "Madam Patience" have grown to become "Principalities". Transfer them to Epe or Badagry and bring those over there down to Jankara! That is how to kill Jurassic corruption tendencies...
Secondly, we should, and must all support Honorable Gbajabiamila's new bill at the National Assembly that will stop the idea of Discos (Distribution companies) sending their official thugs to get outrageous bills from peaceful living consumers to ensuring and enforcing the DISCOS to fix PREPAID METERS across homes!
