NOA Pledges Support to Osun Speaker, 8th Assembly on Sensitisation

The National Orientation Agency has expressed its readiness to work with the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun on legislation that will have a positive impact on the masses. 

The State Director, Mrs Kikelomo Ahmed made the disclosure at the Speaker's office on Monday when her team paid him a courtesy call.

Mrs Ahmed who congratulated the Speaker on his 38th birthday anniversary held recently also noted that "as agency of government saddled with the responsibility of using persuasive method for people to see the positive sides of the efforts of the government, we are ready to propagate and educate the people of Osun State on the legislation of the 8th assembly that will positively impact them".

"We want you to help us use your good office to appeal to the Governor of the State, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for his support to us. Prince Oyinlola supported the agency (NOA) during his tenure, Ogbeni Aregbesola did for a while and that was the last we enjoyed".

"We pray that God should use you to help us revamp the needed gesture from the government", she concluded.

In his response, the Speaker Rt Hon. Adewale Egbedun regretted how our society fails to realize the power of sensitization in governance. 

He said "when I travelled to Malaysia, I wondered why their citizens are extremely  law-abiding but after my research, I got to know that the country used so many years to educate and sensitise their people".

The Speaker also commended the NOA for the yeoman's job they are doing in the sensitisation process, across all nooks and crannies of the state. He promised the agency that himself and the 8th Assembly will support the agency and be part of their success story.

The NOA team to the Speaker include the Deputy Director (Planning, Research and Strategy), Mrs Bola Elizabeth, Deputy Director (Programs), Prince Biyi Adefarasin and the Assistant Director (LG's), Mr Alaba A. Afolabi.

Others are the Director of Finance, Mr Yisau Akinlabi, the Agency PRO, Mrs Bunmi Olasehinde and the Assembly correspondent, Mrs Adeola Dunmoye.
